Opening the Spine in ChiFusion Level 1 is not the typical foward-bending hamstring stretch you might expect. Instead, its purpose is to create a free, well-aligned, mobile spine.

How you start your forward bend can make all the difference in this exercise. This short video discusses how to start your bend so that you reduce spinal compression, promote a healthy spine, and build a good foundation for spinal chi work.

I’m having neck and right arm and wrist pain. Is there a certain movement I can do to correct it?

Spiraling Qigong in ChiFusion Level 2 is ideal for preventing and healing neck, shoulder, arm, and wrist problems.

However, Spiraling may be difficult if the pain or injury is too great. So you may want to start instead with these exercises from Level 1: Look Backward, Touch Heaven and Earth, Punch with Tiger Eyes, and Draw a Bow to Shoot the Hawk. Practice these using the "40% or less" rule described at the beginning of Level 1. Make sure you follow all the ChiFusion Details for these exercises. Without them, you won't help your problem, and may actually make it worse.

As you start seeing improvements, increase these Level 1 exercises from 40% to 70% over a few days or weeks. Once you hit 70%, then switch to Spiraling Qigong, starting it again at 40% and working towards 70% over a period of time.
